What if you “fired” one of your largest clients?
03 July 2025Have you ever thought about letting go of an important, long-standing client?
Not because they don’t pay. But maybe because your firm is moving in a new direction. Or because the relationship feels off. Or maybe you suspect they are doing something unethical.
But then you hesitate. What would it mean for our cash flow? Can we afford to lose them?
Hesitate no more. Just check and decide. With Tailwind you can model your forecast with or without specific clients. (And do all sorts of other “what-ifs”)
1. Check the current forecast.
Log into your Tailwind account and go to “Dashboard”. You will see your 3-6-9 month summary there:

2. Hide
Go to the “In”section – you will see planned incoming payments grouped by client:

Click on the client you want to “test for” to open the list of expected transactions with them:

Click on “Hide counterparty” in the upper left corner. All planned transactions with this counterparty are now hidden from the forecast.
3. Check
Now go back to “Dashboard” – you will see the updated forecast there:

In this case the impact is quite dramatic. In other cases it might barely noticeable. Either way, it’s so much better to know instead of guessing.
4. (optional) Unhide
Should you decide you would rather keep working with this client at least for now, go to “In” section. Then click on the “Hidden” tab, click on the name of the client and then on “Unhide”.
